Pirate Princess Cover Sneak Peek #1
Book news incomingš“āā ļøš
Itās hard to believe but⦠itās about that time for me to start producing a whole other book, for the second time. AHH.

I feel so much more confident and capable this time around. I have templates or have already set up everything: my newsletter, website, preorders, ARC form, income tax, my LLC, all the services I have subscriptions to like Canva, Bookfunnel, etc. Iāve done this before, and Iām going to do it again, dammit!

Is this not the best nervous/scared gif ever?
OF COURSE Iām still nervous/scared. This book is an extremely vulnerable one for me in different ways than THE GREAT TREE OF IRIS. It has a bi-awakening, a main character with PMOS (my health condition, otherwise known as PCOS), and my first published spicy scenes. But the nervous/scared hasnāt fully set in yet.
Itās hard to wait until next spring for this book to come out, but I know the time is going to fly by. And plus, I can start writing a new book, which will help distract me from the occasional horrors of being vulnerable. š
Iām thrilled to announce that the cover for āPirate Princessā is DONE, and itās even more GORGEOUS that I thought it would be. I want to talk about it more but I donāt want to spoil it yet!
Iāll be sharing a sneak peek at it until the full reveal, here in my newsletter. Thank you to Polina @ apolin.art for her amazing artistry and being such a lovely person to work with:

Cover sneak peek #1! Come back for sneak peek #2 next month!
For those who are wondering (and to keep myself on track), hereās my current publication timeline:
-Title and release date reveal in JUNE, here in the newsletter first, as always!
-Cover reveal and preorders open (including signed copies with swag) - September
-Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) form for reviewers: Sept-Jan, depending on number
-ARCs go out in January after the holidays
-Publication, release party, my imminent collapse: spring 2027 (date TBA)
Itās basically being a project manager. But the good news is, I have total control, since itās all on me to make the whole thing happen. š

Something BIG is coming in September with THE GREAT TREE OF IRIS. I mentioned it back in the December newsletter and things are finally happening. More soon, since I still canāt talk about it in detail online!

I set up my light purple tent for the first time and Iām ready for these upcoming book events! So excited!! Iāll report back. More info about these events and tickets, if applicable, here on my Events page.

Watching: Besides Hacks (which has been AMAZING this season) and our rewatch of Firefly (and our continuous rewatch of The Great British Bake Off), I just finished Rooster and really enjoyed it. It has some lol moments. I think Iāve been missing comedy this winter. Also, loving my Broad City rewatchāI watched it once years ago, loved it, and yeah, excellent decision.

Listening: The Head and the Heart has an amazing new acoustic album. I always get into the mood of listening to them when summer is on the horizon.
Crafting: Ever since my quilt retreat, Iāve been sewing regularly (almost every day) and itās been AMAZING for my mood. I need to try to keep it up as the production of Pirate Princess gets more intense. Iām working on a secret quilt right now, so I canāt share. Thereās a good chance this person is reading. š
Reading: I just finished The Library of Amorlin, a new fantasy book by Kalyn Josephson and really enjoyed it, especially the twist right at the end. I am amped for the second book next year. And I want to live in that library, too.

Happy May from my sun baby! š Thanks for being here! See you in June for the title reveal!
